In Her Shoes, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that provides resources and support to underserved populations by creating economic sustainability, promoting self-sufficiency and improving the quality of life. IHS provides assistance to low-income and low-access communities through three key programs: Housing, Farm Business Enhancement and Food Access.
IHS believes healthy food options should be accessible to everyone regardless of income, social status, or location. Limited access to fresh healthy food is the leading cause of health issues in communities we serve. Through our Food Access program, we provide fresh food outlets in rural and low-access communities by establishing food outlets and bringing together farmers, retailers, and the community.
This nine-month intensive farm-to-market integration program consists of workshops & one-on-one technical assistance. Using our four-step model, we can ensure farmers increase their income by gaining access to new markets within one year. Those with 10 or less years of farming experience are welcome.
